Help with new E248WFP
Hi,
I recently purchased and received my new
E248WFP monitor and Dell Inspiron 531 desktop with . 256MB Radeon ATI HD 2600 XT.
So far I'm pretty happy with everything, easy set up, fast response, great color saturation, etc.
My question is with the monitor, maybe it's because I'm not used to having a LCD or what but I feel like the images from my photos are somewhat fuzzy? I have the highest resolution setting of 1920 x 1200 set. My digital cameras are from some 4.0 megapixel and 7.1 megapixel. The colors are intense almost to the point of too much but I'm wondering is there anything else I can do to make the images a little less fuzzy? Should I be trying to calibrate the settings on the monitor some...anyone have any settings that work for them.
I purchased it mainly for viewing my digital photos and from what I read online from users it seemed like it was more than adequate for that application. I'm a little surprised that a monitor going for $400+ is considered a entry level monitor.
My last question is would the ultrasharp have been a better choice or should this monitor be almost as good? My main concern is image quality and not all the other bells and whistles some models have. Like I said maybe I'm just not used to a big LCD screen yet or maybe I was expectiong too much or looking too hard at the images...I'm not a professional.
Thanks in advance for any opinions and suggestions.
Happy Holidays!
Dave

Also, you might find this article on calibration useful.
The Ultrasharp 2407WFP-HC uses a better quality TFT panel and backlight. At $670 it is almost 70% more expensive than the E248WFP (the NEC LCD2490WUXi has an even better panel and sells for $1200!)
