Help with Resolution

Hi everybody.

Just got a new Dell 8300 with a 1703 FP monitor, but image is properly sized only at 1280 x 1024 res.

That's way too small for me so I'm using 1024 x 768 (or sometimes old 800 x 600) BUT, images look stretched vertically.

Any way I can change any settings somewhere to correct this???

Thanks a lot.

It might look that way because that resolution is similar to a widescreen image.

Things looked stretched out vertically now because your resolution is suited to a monitor's dimensions.

That's my thinking.

LCD montiors will only give a satisfactory image at their Optimal Resolution. Optimal preset resolution 1280 x 1024 at 60 hz

Thanks to you both for replying. I just didn't know LCD displays behaved this way. Wrong choice then. Just to check, I plugged in my old CRT and sure enough, perfect picture.

Thanks again, and best regards.
