Installation update file failed
I have a problem with the installation of an update file. Windows update recommends to install the “Dell Inc. – Other Hardware – Dell SE198WFP (Analog)” for my system. Actually it lists the above update as optional and not critical update. I thought because my computer comes with that monitor (Dell SE198WFP) I should install this update. When I installed it though it failed and the error details show: “Code 800FO20B” The information that comes with this error code says “If you receive Windows Update error 800f020b while trying to install updates, an update that you're trying to install applies to a device that is not connected to the computer. Make sure that all of your devices are connected and turned on, and then try installing updates again.”
I can’t understand how it could say that the update applies to a device that is not connected to the computer. The monitor is connected to the computer; otherwise I couldn’t work with the computer. I don’t know if this error message indicates something else. If anybody could help that would be much appreciated.

Did you ever fix this? Does the SE198WFP (Analog) show up in the device manager?

I can’t find it in the device manager. Windows update shows that this update was released on May 2007. I bought my computer on December 2007. When I contacted Dell about this issue they told me that I don’t need to install this update because it is already installed on my computer. Why though Windows update notifies me of this optional update? It’s something that I can’t understand. The computer though works fine.
