Inverted image

Strange happenings with my Inspiron 600M.  For some unknown reason as I accessed a DVD, the image on the monitor displayed upside down.  Now, I can't get it turn display correctly, even after cold boot.  Suggestions?

medomakman,

Ctrl + Alt + Arrow Left = Flip the display left 90 degrees
Ctrl + Alt + Right = Flip the display right 90 degrees
Ctrl + Alt + Down arrow = Flip the display upside down
Ctrl + Alt + Up arrow = Flip the display normal

Hi there

Ironically, I have a very similar query. I was moving my keyboard and must have knocked some keys (but I don't know which) and my screen view has tilted through 90 degrees to the left. I have tried resetting the display using the Recall function to the default settings but this has not made any difference. I have also tried pressing the combination of keys you suggested to medomakman but I guess I have a different system to him so probably a different combo of keys?

Any help would be gratefully received as it is kind of tricky doing everything with my head at a 90 degree angle!

I am running a Dell Dimenson XPS-R350 desktop with a Dell 1028L monitor.

Mike146,

For a desktop PC, reboot into safemode, then back into normal mode. It should reset the display.

* Power the system off
* Power the system on
* At the blue Dell, tap F8 to bring up the Windows boot menu
* Scroll to and select Safe Mode [Press the Enter Key]
* Select the first or only operating system [Press the Enter Key]
* Once onto the windows desktop, restart into normal mode

Thanks one and all.  Problem resolved!

CTL-ALT plus the directional arrows reoriented the image.
