LCD 1704FPT - Problems with digital Input

When I try to hook up the monitor for DVI I get a message that digital input is in power save mode and I should hit other keys or move mouse to "wake up" computer.  This does not work however.  I run the self tests on the monitor itself and it is working properly.  The monitor works in analog mode but would like to get it working with digital input.  Any solutions out there?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I am using the white cord connected to the white DVI jack.  I've looked at power settings in display properties and they seem to be set correctly.

Go into the control panel and check the power settings and set them to where they belong. The monitor should be PnP in Windows.

When connecting a monitor that has DVI input to a video card that has DVI out only use the DVI cable. The analog cable is not used.

No, look in the power options folder in the control panel. The power options property page.

I have the same issue with my 1905fp - d-sub works fine, dvi gives me a power save mode message! - tried everything-  think its a general issue with dell monitors and certain graphics cards.

dont bother with the phone support - they treated me like an idiot and didnt get no answers!
