M992 problems.
I bought a Dimension 8300 about two months ago, along with a M992 19" monitor. The monitor has been nothing but problems, the original monitor had a problem with sagging screen edges, and remembering the screen size settings when I set them in the monitors menu. I called dell support(Bad now that it is in India), and they had me go through the troubleshooting steps until they were satisfied that it wasn't the computer but was the monitor. They agreed to send me a replacement. In two days I got the replacement and set it up. The monitor also had problems, but not the same as the original, the screen edge at the bottom of the monitor was bent up in the right corner, and it also didn't remember the size settings. I called dell support back and they sent me another one. In 4 days I received it, and on the box this one said refurbished. The other replacement wasn't refurbished but this one was, I unpacked it and hooked it up, this monitor had the same problem with the right bottom of the screen being bent up.
I haven't called Dell support back up yet because I wanted to see if anyone has had the same problems. I am on my third monitor. It gets very annoying lifting a 50 pound monitor onto my desk and then messing around with the wires. I am tempted to call up Dell and ask for a different model monitor. Does anyone know if they will do that.
I would appreciate any help.
Here is a list of things that I have done to diagnose the problem.
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled video card drivers.
2. Booted in safe mode.
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled video card(ATI Radeon 9800 pro)
4. Moved all speakers and other magnets away from monitor.
5. Tried monitor on different computer.
None of these things or the things that Dell support had me do worked.
