Ture, and thanks for you feed back.

I am new in this area and want to made sure the spec before I place the order.

I think from a customers point of view we need an offical DELL person to answer this kind of question so that we can ask for refund in case if the offical spec. is wrong.

Well it's a 17" LCD monitor and pretty much all 17 inchers I've see have a native res. of 1280x1024.

Well, like I said pretty much all the 17 inchers I've seen whether it be in stores or online, have a native res.  of 1280x1024.  Those models you've pointed out (and most others that have a lower res. than the usual native) are pretty old, outdated, or targeted at some special application or the low end.
