Max res for E173FP.

Question

On the page below: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx?c=hk&id=mon_s_lcd_hk&l=en&s=dhs IT say the DellTM  E173FP is 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution.   But in another page: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/monitor_e173fp?c=hk&l=en&s=dhs It says: Clear, sharp images at a maximum resolution of up to 1024 x 768 pixels So what is the Max resolution for the Porduct? 1280 X1024 OR 1024 X 768? Or does it meant I get Clear, sharp imaes in 1024 x 768 but Poor un-clear image at 1280 X1024?   aaron.tse

Thats Not necessary always the case:   ViewSonic N1800TV 18 in. LCD Monitor 18 in. - LCD - 1024 x 768 Max. Res.   Microtek 211SD - 21 LCD 1024X768 400:1 BLACK W/ SPKR 21 in. - LCD - 1024 x 768 Max. Res.   Hitachi 17IN 16INV CRT 24MM 1024X768 85HZ 16V V700 17 in. - CRT - 1024 x 768 Max. Res.   Microtek 914SD - 19 LCD 1024X768 450:1 BLACK W/ SPKR 19 in. - LCD - 1024 x 768 Max. Res.   And the list can go on.......   Hope somebody from DELL can answer my question.   Aaron

I am new in this area and want to made sure the spec before I place the order.

I think from a customers point of view we need an offical DELL person to answer this kind of question so that we can ask for refund in case if the offical spec. is wrong.

Well it's a 17' LCD monitor and pretty much all 17 inchers I've see have a native res. of 1280x1024.

Well, like I said pretty much all the 17 inchers I've seen whether it be in stores or online, have a native res.  of 1280x1024.  Those models you've pointed out (and most others that have a lower res. than the usual native) are pretty old, outdated, or targeted at some special application or the low end.
