Monitor Driver
My system uses a P991 monitor and I am running Windows XP. I think the driver that I am using is supplied by WinXP, however, I am getting faint sloping lines (up from left to right) and I'm wondering if the proper driver for my monitor is installed.
Thanks.

One way to check that is to go to the device hardware manager. Simplest way:
right click on "my computer" (or whatever the name is if you changed it) click on properties
choose the hardware tab
click on device manager
then look down the list for monitors and click on it. If there is a driver installed, thats the name you will see - it might say something generic like plug and play monitor - that would mean your driver is not installed. However if you see the name of your monitor (driver), then it is installed.
Hope this helps

rwlibby,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
The driver is native to WinXP. To load the monitor file you can Click the Display Properties in the Control Panel. From there click Settings | Advanced | Monitor | Properties | Driver | Update Driver | Choose, Install from a List | Next | Choose, Don't Search. I will choose the driver to Install | Next | Click Show compatable hardware. You then can choose Dell under the Manufacturer then scroll down to choose the type of monitor from the list on the right. Complete the wizard to load the file.
