monitor driver
Hi
Can any one help me find a monitor driver for dell 172fp monitor ?
I have tried downloads but can not find this model number

Many monitors do not have drivers and rely on the plug and play in Windows to detect and install the correct driver.
However, there is no "172P" listed in the list of 17" monitors on the Dell documentation listing. Are you certain on the model number? There is an E171FP but that is closest I can find. HERE is the 17" listing.
What specific problem(s) are you having?

The full model number could be E172FP6
Having done a clean install of windows 7 the monitor has picked up a plug and play driver but I find that it does not show all the modes possible
This is no real problem but under vista it did have a dell driver and that is what I am trying to find

That model is not listed in the Dell 17" monitor documentation list and no driver listed in the downloads. You may be stuck with the default Windows driver.

Many thanks for your help
I have a ghost copy of my previous operating system and it is possible to go back and retrieve the driver if I can be bothered!!!
I will probably stay with the windows default
