Monitor E151FPb Brightness option not working

We bought 4 desktops with monitors (Model151FPb) for OptiPlex GX270 last Aug 2003. All of them having the same problem: the monitor's "Brightness" menu is not working, no matter how we increase or decrease the brightness, no difference observed on the screen. But the "contrast" option is working well. 

Just this week we called in Dell Technical Rep, they agreed to replace our monitors. Surprisingly, when the new monitor arrived, it's still having the same problem, "Brightness" is not working. Anyone has any idea?

Have you tried the following?

  • Perform monitor reset
  • Push Auto Adjust button

All done, still not working.

When call Dell Technical support, they mentioned it's because of the monitor is analog, doesn't support digital...

So, what's the problem with this? We could have gotten different model of monitors in the first place.

We have decided to return all the 4 replacement monitors, as it doesn't make any difference from the existing ones that we have.
