Monitor fades and blurs intermittenly

Question

I have a Dell 8250 monitor a little over one year old.  Lately it wavers between normal and fuzzy images and print which appear out of focus.  The time period between normal and out of focus varies, but cycles about every five to ten seconds.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Oops.  I made a mistake on my monitor model.  It is a Dell M782p-1.  Sorry about that!

Try: disconnect monitor from PC, turn on, see if the self test or control menus do the same thing. If so, monitor needs repair, I hope it is in warranty.
