Monitor Makes odd sound when off

Question

It wasn't doing this before but now when it seems I hit the power button to turn my monitor off there will be this zapping sound which comes out of the monitor once about every 20 sec.  This sound does not occur while the monitor is on.  It stops about 10 min later, but It's very anoying.  Should I get dell to get me a replacement?

Unplug your system from the wall and press the power button to release all the flea power.Also try degaussing your monitor. (Use your on screen menu on the front of the computer.)

Will I have to do this everytime I want to turn the monitor off? I havn't done what u suggested yet, but I'm just wondering?

No just one time to clear it out. This is a common occurance (the build up). Anytime you open the case you need to do it. But for your monitor you will not.

The sound went away for about a day, but is now back.  Again this only occurs when the monitor is off be it stand by or me physically turning the button off.
