Monitor Not Powering Off

I have a Dell P780 monitor and am running Windows XP. Recently after changing my wallpaper and installing a new printer I have noticed that my screen saver works fine however, my monitor is not powering off after 20 minutes like I have always set it up to do under the power schemes in the properties. Any ideas for a fix?

Mgreeley1,

Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum.

Actually, those power saving features were written for portable systems and not desktops.  Because of that, they don't always work the way we would like.  Also, it's not really necessary to have those in a desktop.  It's not possible for a monitor to get screen burn anymore.  That only happened on older systems.

I would recommend just turning all the power saving features off and let the system take care of itself.
