Monitor Resolution
Hey I have the 15 inch e153fp flat screen monitor and my max resolution for games or anything is 1024. why is that? On my inspiron 8200, 15 inch display i could go to 1600*1200 in games...
i thought any 15 monitor could do it, especially one 3 years newer than my laptop screen.
it would have been nice if when ordering , the free flat panel upgrade had its features next to it. because this is total nonsense, this monitor is worthless!

Its not worthless, for goodness sakes. You are the one who asked for it. Thats the way of this size monitor. There are other choices. You can purchase a 20 inch 2001 FP LCD and get the 1600x1200 if you wanted to. Didn't you do some research first before clicking on the 15 inch screen ?

Cruis,
Unfortunately, the 153FP monitor has a max resolution of 1024x768. Specs can be found at this link:

If you are unhappy with the monitor, call Dell and arrange to send it back and ask for the CRT monitor which would have come with it before the free upgrade.

And none of these are bad.
15 inch LCD's are 1024x768
17 / 18 / 19 LCD's inch monitors are 1280x1024
20 inch LCD's are 1600x1200
This information is wildly known for LCD monitors, and CRT's are different. And here is something else you might want to research as well, before you make another mistake.
