Monitor Self-Test Feature Check (STFC)

Does the issue appear in safemode?
* Click Start- Turn Off Computer- Restart
* At the blue Dell, tap F8 to bring up the Windows boot menu
* Scroll to and select Safe Mode, press the Enter key
* Select the first or only operating system, press the Enter key
- If the issue does not appear in safemode, the problem is the video card driver or the video card itself
- If the issue does appear in safemode, run the Self-Test Feature Check (STFC)

STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
* Turn off the monitor
* Unplug the monitor from the computer (ALL cables)
* Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket
* Turn on the monitor
* The floating red/green/blue/white dialog box should appear on screen against a black background
- If the image appears correctly, the monitor is ok and you should look to the video card driver or the video card itself
- If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective

* If the STFC fails, contact Dell Technical Support and provide to them the following information -
Name:
Email Address:
Shipping address:
Phone number:
Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number if purchased with a PC:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number found on the back on a label or on the slider card on the left rear:
Reason: Fails STFC (Self Test Feature Check). List specific failure
