Monitor stuck in power save mode

I researched this problem for a while but could not find any leads or solution even within this forum.

The problem is when I start the computer or my ps3 connected with the my Dell E248WFPb it detect the computer but goes straight to power save mode

This issue occured after i successfully connected the monitor to the ps3 but suddenly went dark when i reset the ps3 to change the resolution to 720p

Changed the ps3 back to 1080p but now the monitor wont recognize it.

Can't get out of it and tried safe mode as well. I tried 3 different dvi cable and two vga cable but no luck(yes i changed the digital and analog option with the appropriate cable )

I have no problem with my computer because everything is working fine even with the graphic card Ati hd 6850 and using it with a different monitor.

Also changed the power cord along with changing the place of  it previous outlet to another outlet.

I believe warranty expired about five years ago, and tech support is the very last desperate attempt to fix the problem.

Now im just leaving it unplugged for a week and get back to it or wait till someone kind enough to help me out.

Hi Cra8tive,

I appreciate you for following a few troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. By looking at the details you have mentioned it looks like the monitor is faulty. To check the same, I request you to follow the below steps to reset the monitor settings:

(1) Click on the OSD menu button which looks like the below figure.

(2) Now using the up/down arrow keys move to Factory reset and select it as shown in the below figure.

(3) This changes all the user-adjustable settings including color, position, brightness, contrast and OSD hold time to the factory defaults. The language of the OSD does not change.

(4) Once this is done, remove all the external peripherals from the monitor for some time.

(5) This releases the static on the monitor (if present).

(6) Now try and connect the monitor, if this doesn’t work then the monitor might be faulty.

If you have any further questions please reply to the same post.

I can't access the OSD with this monitor when connected and not, it not locked but more unavailable during the self test feature check and power safe mode

Hi Cra8tive,

I suggest you to run a LCD BIST by following the below steps to determine if the screen is working fine:

(1) The Computer needs to be turned on.

(2) Remove the VGA cable from behind the monitor(the cable that connects the monitor and the computer)

(3) Now check if you see colored lined on the monitor.

If the colors are not displayed they the monitor might have failed.

It seems I can access the OSD by using my PS3 at low settings but only show a black screen
