Monitor won't go into powersave

I have several new GX280SD with E173FPb monitors that WILL go into powersave after 1,2,3 or 5 minutes but will NOT after 10 or more minutes!

Has anyone any ideas where I can stat looking for a solution?

It is very similar on XP, right click desktop, click Screen Save tab and press the Power button.

Thanks for the posts, but I know how to set power saving in XP but if I set it to 10 minutes or more, the monitor stays on!!!

When you say the monitor does not turn off, does it display a Windows screen or does it it turn black but stay on?  If you see a Windows screen then it is a Windows problem if not, does the monitor stay on if your turn off the computer?  If not there there is nothing wrong with the monitor; it might be a problem with the BOIS settings (try loading factory defaults) or the graphics driver.

I hope that helps.  I have seen Windows do a few strange things when it comes to energy savings.  Sometimes the monitor will stay on 2 to 3 times as long as it should, then it finaly turns off.

If you are still having problems, a work-around might be to have the computer enter sleep mode after X minutes.  The monitor should always turn off when in sleep mode.
