OSD Lock - Dell Flat Display ST2220

I received this monitor on Saturday and within 10 minutes (I'm not kidding) I managed to get the dreaded padlock everyone bemoans, after trying to adjust the settings.

I've googled for hours on how to fix this. I even found suggestions for other flat display models in this forum, but it won't work for my model. I've lost hours trying to fix this monitor and I really need to decrease the contrast setting. I've pressed for all of the buttons for minutes, but nothing works.

Can a someone please offer me some advice on how to fix this model?

Thanks,

Tonya

To unlock/lock it, press and hold the button above the power button for 10 seconds.

No change. The padlock appeared, then disappeared. When I pushed the button again (after the 15 seconds), the padlock reappeared.

Please help. I don't want to return the monitor and you're my last hope. Thanks.

Since that did not work, have Dell exchange it. If you only have a monitor order number, you should contact Order Support. If your monitor was purchased tied to a Dell PC, contact Technical Support. They will need the following data -
Email Address:
Name:
Shipping Address:
Phone Number:
Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number:
