Polle,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Try removing and reinstalling the video card drivers into the system. If you need assistance with the drivers you can post this question to Dell - Chris in the Video Conference Forum.

The computer it's attached to is working fine. I'm 100 % sure it's a defect on the monitor. Any idea's what could cause this ?

Polle,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

If the monitor is defective you can email support@dell.com and have the monitor replaced.

I have two Dell GX110's that are experiencing the same problem.  The monitor will just cut out, although there is still power to the monitor and system.  The only way to bring the video feed back is to "pound" on the CPU.  I have replaced the motherboard (Integrated video), the power supply, all cables, rebuilt the HD (the dell tech wanted to make sure I "debugged" the drive before FDisk and format), swapped monitors and we are still having the problem!  Dell won't swap the systems out yet either.  (It's really frustrating to have to reopen these cases after replacing yet another part and waste hours going through all the basic hardware troubleshooting steps again!!)  Has anyone else seen this?  These systems are the small form factors...

Thanks!

Did anyone ever get a resolution to this situation? I have 4 computers that this is occuring on and Dell is shooting in the dark every time we call. This is extremely frustrating as we know it is not the monitor. It will not even complete the repair disk and the phone techs just don't know why. Help!

We are also starting to have a problem here . Every once in a while the monitor goes black for 2-3 seconds, and then comes back on. Is this the same problem everyone else is having? We have a 17 inch flat screen dell monitor.

only two things come to my mind that may be the problem one is loose connection in the video card another is faulty power supply in the lcd possible shorted wire.  I seldom use the integrated video on any computer
