P2214H, dual, D3100 dock, setup

Alright I’m struggling largely here. I’m trying to set up a home docking station for my girlfriends work laptop. I purchased the Dell 3100 docking station, and 2 P2214H monitors. I also purchased two display port to hdmi cables. System is running windows 10 and connects to a docking station fine at work. I am unaware what cables, other a USB cable from the laptop to the dock, are used at her work station. The monitors have display port, mini display port, or the 2 vga varieties as far as connections go. The 3100 docking station has 2 hdmi ports, and a display port. I’ve got drivers for the docking station installed. Upon connecting everything i get no response from the monitors at all, no matter what i try. Even when connecting it directly to the computer(via the display port to hdmi) I get nothing. Is the display port to hdmi cable not correct for what I am trying to achieve? Do I need to return these monitors and get ones with hdmi ports?

Source HDMI cannot upconvert to monitor DP.

The cables you bought are one direction only =
PC or dock DP out port --> DP to HDMI cable --> Monitor HDMI in port

D3100 video out ports = DP/HDMI/HDMI
P2214H video in ports = DP/DVI/VGA

D3100 DP out port --> DP to DP cable --> #1 P2214H DP in port
D3100 HDMI out port --> HDMI to DVI cable --> #2 P2214H DVI in port

Thank you so much! Correct cables ordered. Now I’ve gotta find something to do with all these extra cords 🤣.
