P2214H, multiple stuck and dead pixels, replacement?
Hello, my P2214H has at least 3 dead pixels and even more stuck pixels. It also has horrible back light bleed. These defects were found using the monitor's built in self test feature, so I know they were not caused by a defective graphics card or cable. I heard that dell has a pixel policy and that they will replace monitors. My monitor qualifies, so how can I get a replacement? The screen was properly cleaned before the following pictures were taken. Back light bleed, it looks worse than the pictures show:
A small group of dead pixels and a blue stuck pixel in the corner:
Two stuck pixels; one in the center, one in the corner:
Two stuck pixels in the center, one more in the corner:
Sorry for the bad photo quality, I had to downsize the image resolution because of a file size limitation.

* Go back to the top of this Monitor Forum board
* Open the announcement, "FAQ Monitor"
* Open, "Pixel Policy & Pixel Exerciser"
Concerning the backlight...
Our manufacturer does not validate our monitors in a dark room. They validate our monitors in rooms with a minimum of 150 lux which is standard office lighting. That monitor does fall within our manufacturer specifications for Backlight uniformity. Dell does not have a 100% coverage Backlight uniformity evenness standard. It is acceptable for the corners or sides to differ somewhat from the others or center and still be within manufacturer specifications.
