P2419H, gap between screen and outer case

Hi, I just purchased Dell P2419H monitor and I see there's a gap between screen and outer case. So much that I can insert a piece of paper inside at good depth as shown in the attached pic. Is this something to worry about or this normal? My monitor is under replacement period so if this is something that can cause problems later, I would better get this replaced. I  am worried about dust seeping in and causing problems later?

Hi @soaringAlone welcome to this user to user forum. This P2419H is a 23.8" monitor with an ultra thin bezel design. This P2419H is new and you are unhappy with it having an air gap between the screen and its bezel.

You will be spending many hours in front of the monitor and this air gap is going to be a constant irritant. Now is the time to exercise your option to either reject it for full refund or request a new replacement. You may decide on a full refund, so that the warranty for your next monitor gives you the 30 day option to reject it.

Being worried about dust getting into the a) housing, there are vents at the rear, or b) screen, most if not all the screens are sealed at their edge, c) gap between screen and bezel, there should be no appreciable gap, the electrostatic screen will attract a lot of dust during its normal function.

Crimson, appreciate your reply. Just that I don't see any other problem with the monitor and I am worried if I replace this one whether the next one I get will that be any better than this one ?

So, if this gap is acceptable and is not going to cause any problems later, I am happy to live with this.
