P2424HEB not charging on resume

If I put the laptop into standby, and then disconnect power from the monitor (overnight), the next day the monitor does not start charging the laptop again.

I currently have the power button, configured to shut down.

I guess I should change it back to standby and use it.

One time I did disconnect the laptop cable and replug, and that restarted the charging, but that did not work today

and then disconnect power from the monitor (overnight)
* Why would you disconnect the power cable from the P2424HEB?

* P2424HEB and Pro 14 Plus PB14250 are connected and on
* First, disconnect the P2424HEB 1.8 M USB-C to USB-C cable from the PB14250
* Then press the PB14250 power button to place it into sleep mode
* Reconnect the P2424HEB 1.8 M USB-C to USB-C cable to the PB14250
* Press the PB14250 power button to resume

Does it show as charging?

One reason for turning off the power is that the USB A ports remain powered otherwise.

I'll try your procedure next time it isn't charging.

With a previous laptop I used to shutdown windows overnight (pressing the Dell monitor button)  while this worked well in the short term, I understand it is no longer recommend, as it wears out windows in the long term.

So with this new laptop I'm just trying to work out what the best thing to do with the laptop overnight. (I had assumed standby). So do I set the power button to sleep, and use the monitor button to make the laptop sleep at night?
