P2715Q, desktop reset when switching input

I just got issued a P2715Q at work. I am connecting it to both an iMac 5K via DisplayPort and a Windows 10 PC via mini DisplayPort. Whenever I switch the input on the monitor from one to the other, the computer that's switched away has its desktop reset to single display and all the windows and desktop icons get rearranged. It's beyond annoying. How can I keep this from happening? The Lenovo 24 inch monitor it replaced didn't have this issue.

Was the Lenovo 24" monitor also using the 4k2k 3840x2160 60Hz resolution and Hz? If not, not a good comparison.

The P2715Q uses two 1920x1080 side by side "tiles" stitched together by the operating system video card driver to get the resolution of 3840x2160. The video card driver controls this, not the monitor. So if the video card driver is slow to initialize when you switch back and forth between PC inputs, all of the open windows and icons are shunted to the left tile. We are seeing this tile issue on both AMD and Nvidia drivers. All you can do is keep testing newer video card drivers when they are released.

Workaround =
* Move all of your icons to the bottom taskbar or to the left tile
* Close all open windows before allowing computer sleep modes
* Close all open windows before switching the PC inputs
