P2715Q, energy saving mode issue
I have got a out of warranty P2715Q monitor connected to PC via DP-miniDP cable. It using Windows 10 system. The Windows 10 system has an energy saving option "10 minutes display off". When the standby time reaches 10 minutes the display is going to energy save mode and the monitor's power led starts blinking.
---
But after a minute the monitor's power led burns constantly. The system sound bells like "monitor on". Then the system sound bells like "monitor off". On the black screen appears box "the monitor entering power saving mode..." The box disappears and screen off. The monitor's power led starts blinking.

* For my Dell notes, click my name and private message me the P2715Q service tag number and 20 digit alphanumeric serial number
* Enter the P2715Q Menu
* Go to Others
* Choose Factory Reset Enable
* Exit the Menu and retest
* Can you replicate the issue when testing the P2715Q on a different computer?

Built on = September 30, 2015
Shipped on = November 25, 2015
Warranty expired on = November 26, 2018
Until you can find another PC to test on to verify the fault is the P2715Q, I would still use the P2715Q. Simply disable all Windows 10 energy modes and turn the P2715Q off via its power button when not in use.

I tried another PC. But did not get result.
I have an old PC (Gigabyte GS-H57M-USB3). Probably it has the old DysplayPort's version.
When I connected my DELL display to my old PC I have got black screen.

I set up my monitor to "secondary" mode that supports DP 1.1.
I tested my monitor with Windows 7 and DP 1.1.
I have got positive result. The monitor is saving its energy correctly. No textboxes appears. The system not sounds like "display on" and "display off".
Then I made reset Display options, connected to Win 10 PC with DP 1.2 and tested my monitor again. It works properly!
Now I do not understand how to interpret the result.

When I moved and turned the monitor I heard the sound of grains of sand rolling inside.
These are manufacturing flaws.
My monitor worked only 160 hours, the remaining 3 years it was in its package.
It looks new.
I'm gonna keep shaking it and testing it until I know he's okay.

In the beginning, the win 10 + DP 1.2 system had an HP ZR2240W monitor installed.
Then I replaced the monitor with DELL P2715Qt.
Then I updated all the drivers in the system.
This issue of looping the monitor on and off was discovered by accident after all updates.
I can't imagine if it would have been before the driver update or not.
Black screen constantly in power saving mode,
turns on and off, pause, message, pause, turns on and off, pause, message, pause,... and so on.
In windows 7 + DP 1.1 the monitor in Seconary mode works correctly.
Could the old drivers and settings somehow affect the behavior of the new monitor?
I don't believe that. I'm asking just in case.
Yesterday, At some point my monitor started to switch to power saving mode correctly.
I have tried to repeat this situation many times without success.
I don't know what else to do.

On an old 2010 motherboard and Windows 7 x64 operating system. There is no problem when the monitor is in power saving mode.
On a modern 2018 motherboard and Windows 10 x64 operating system.
When the monitor goes into power saving mode and after that every 30 seconds goes out and immediately enters power saving mode.
I don't know how to explain it and how to fix the problem.

I tried everything: I uninstalled and re-installed drivers, disabled services, scanned for viruses, restored system integrity - all of these actions do not brought success and my monitor continued to operate incorrectly in the power-saving mode. Then I read about the problems of Windows 10 version 1809 and decided to update the system to version 1903. After upgrading to the 1903 version, the main problem of incorrect operation of the monitor disappeared. Some less significant problems remain. I think they can be solved by installing clean system version 1803 and directly upgrading to 1903 bypassing the failed version 1809.

I have found a stable driver for my DELL P2715Q + MSI Z370M Gaming Pro AC + i5-8600t:
Intel UHD Graphics 630
Date 02.08.2017
Version 22.20.16.4758
If I try to update this driver the issue occurs.
All newer versions of "Intel UHD Graphics 630" force my monitor periodically swithes on and off in the Energy saving mode.
At this point, I can't find a more detailed reason for such abnormal monitor operation.
If someone technical who has the same monitor will help me, I will be grateful.
I am confused by the fact that when the monitor wakes up from the Power saving mode, the system makes two sounds "Device connected" and "Device disconnected." Is this happening on all these monitors?

Hello!
I contacted Intel for technical support for my DELL p2715q monitor.
Intel has released driver updates for the Intel HD Graphics 630 and asked DELL to get an updated driver for my p2715q monitor to improve compatibility and resolve issues.
I ask DELL to provide an updated driver for my DELL p2715q monitor to improve compatibility with the latest Intel drivers.
Thanks in advance!
Regards, Evgeny.

I was asking DELL because Intel believes that DELL should update the driver monitor P2715Q to ensure compatibility with the latest UHD drivers Intel Graphics 630. I got the recommendation from Intel is to contact DELL with a request to issue an updated driver for the P2715Q for Windows10x64. I'm talking to DELL, not the community. Thanks in advance!
