P2815Q HDMI issue

Question

Hi there, I've spent the last few hours trying to resolve this but no luck, here's what's going on. I have a Dell P2815Q  & p2715q each is connected to a MSI GTX 970 card (running Windows 8.1) This works: GTX 970: mDP -> p2815q  GTX 970: HDMI -> p2715q  This does not work (and I really want it to work this way): GTX 970: mDP -> p2715q  GTX 970: HDMI -> p2815q In this case the p2715q  displays just fine, but the p2815q goes straight to 'enabling power save mode'. The p2815q doesn't show up in my resolution settings for the NVIDIA control panel or anywhere else. I've verified that the HDMI input works on the p2815q (using a laptop) and based on the working setup there is a signal coming from the HDMI output on the video card. I've tried uninstalling & updating the NVIDIA drivers, updating the BIOS, and a bunch of other things. I'm hoping I'm missing something simple, if not it looks like something is getting returned. I would test without the P2715Q connected at all.

* Turn the computer and both monitors off
* Disconnect the P2715Q from the computer video card and computer USB port
* Connect only the P2815Q
GTX 970 HDMI out --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> P2815Q HDMI in
Computer USB port --> P2815Q USB upstream cable --> P2815Q USB upstream in
* Turn the P2815Q on, then the computer
* Press the P2815Q Menu button
* Go to Input Source
* Choose HDMI
* Exit the Menu
