problem with E151FPb moniter

my monitor has about a 1.5 in wide strip of (transparent) white down the entire left side. it just showed up this morning, for no apparent reason. it is transparent in windows and at the login screen, but it is white on my boot screen (which is black). i also noticed that the rest of the moniter has funky colors in certain video games and whatnot.

i rebooted, shut down, and re-plugged the moniter into the port. nothing.

so i reinstalled my graphics drivers, still nothing.

i really dont want to have to replace this moniter, so i'm looking for any solution that may help.

i'm sorry if this has already been covered. i searched the forums, but didnt find anyone with the exact same situation.

also, i'm having trouble logging in to read my invoice to find out how long my warranty lasts. it keeps giving my an error...if anyone knows a solution for that, thanks.

thanks for any suggestions, i really appreciate it.

Try borrowing another monitor, hook to your PC.  If the image is good, your monitor is bad and hopefully under warranty.   If the image is still bad, then you may have a videocard problem.

Good, not the monitor.  Maybe try a new videocard driver software.  What kind of videocard do you have?
