Problem with new E193FP Flat panel display

I'm new to the Dell forums so please excuse my inexperience.

I just purchased a new Dell system which included a 19" flat panel monitor model E193FP.  In the position of lower center right there is a spot under the monitor surface that is comparable to a 12 pt font comma - ", "  It is dark and always visible if I have a light background such as a word document.

I've contacted Dell customer service on 3 occasions and each time I get the same answer.  "Sorry for the problem and the location of the spot...we understand it can be very distracting, but we can't do anything for you.  It's an industry standard that there will or can be spots on your brand new monitor."  I'm just appalled at the customer service.  I'm pretty sure when I bought the system a XPS400,  that there wasn't a disclaimer stating that " well, y'know with these monitors it might have a spot right in the middle of the monitor...and if you do and it's smaller than 7 pixels....we aren't going to do anything about it.  You'll just have to live with it, tough luck, buy our product and take your chances.......sheeesh.  I'm frustrated.  In hindsight I guess I should have purchased the "if anything happens to your computer for any reason...like you "drop it" we'll send you a replacement insurance policy.  Trust me....the monitor would have somehow slipped off my desk which was sitting on the edge of a cliff.

If any of you know of a contact at Dell that can help me I would appreciate it.

I just want to report a satisfactory resolution to my problem.  Dell has offered to send me a new monitor.  I haven't received it yet.
