PS3 to Dell 2007WFP

Im in college and I just got a PS3 but I dont have a TV (PS3 its actually back at home so I have to wait to play it). I plan on hooking it to my Dell 2007WFP with a DVI to HDMI cable. Is there any reason why it would not work. Just was wondering b4 I spend $30 on the cable. I heard of situations where it would not work if there was is no HDCP support. Is this true? And does the monitor support HDCP? Does anyone know what resolution it would support? 720p? 1080i? by some miracle 1080p? The monitor is 1680 X 1050. Also I have satellite speakers and i need sound from the monitor so any ideas on resolving the sound issue?

The new 2007WFP according to Dell's website, does support HDCP. However, I have yet to try it and would also like to know if the PS3 actually works with this monitor, as I am thinking of purchasing one.

I'd just like to mention that my 2407WFP, which I just bought a few weeks ago, supports 480p, 720p, and 1080i HD modes, but does not support 1080p. I imagine the 2007WFP will support the same modes, but I don't know for sure.

2007WFP won't support 1080i or 1080p as it only has 1050 lines vertical resolution

Holy , no 1080p on the Dell 2407? that is the only reason i got this thing so i could play Xbox 360 and PS3 games, otherwise i would have just purchased something else.

He was mistaken, the Dell 2407WFP only does 1080p not i. I use the XBOX 360, and you can only select the 1080p, if you select 1080i, then you get the out of range message. It obviously isn't perfect because there are 1200 lines of resolution, but it still looks pretty dagon good, esp with the HD DVD player hooked up to the computer with USB.

I am new to the forum any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have my PS3 connected to my 2007WFP using dvi to hd connection.  Its running on 720p which is fine, but I need to use 1:1 aspect ratio to get a HD like image and using this ratio does shrinks the image.  if i use the other two ratio its a full size image but the quality s.  is there something I'm missing.  I saw a link on another post that had a full screen image that looked preety good... how can I do that.

Also the image is not as bright as my when the PS3 hooked up to my HD TV, is this lower brightness on the LCD just common to all monitors (fyi I have changed the brightness setting without much difference).
