Quick Question: Telescoping the Stand on my 2001FP

Question

As the subject implies, I can't figure out how to extend the monitor stand. Is there a secret button I'm missing or something? Pulling isn't doing anything.

OK I figured it out, you have to push the stand down (didn't try this because I wanted it to go UP) and press the button at the same time or else it will not release.

Note: If locked in the down position, press the stand lock release button on the bottom rear of HAS. Lift the front panel up and extend the stand to the desired height.

This is exactly my problem, but pressing the button doesn't seem to do anything.
