replacement for a old 19"CRT
I have a dimension 8300 that will need a new monitor. I thought I would stay with a 19" or 20" model. But I have looked at a total of 9 dell monitors. I am a bit confused. I have some that say just Widescreen flat panel and others that say ultrasharp widescreen flat. panel.
The widescreen 19" some end with WX or Just W or another SE198WFP. So what is the difference between a W and a WFP. The game if it makes a difference that I like to play is call of duty2 thanks for the help

Since you're a fellow gamer... the bigger screen you can afford, the better :emotion-2:
But if you have to sacrifice size to be able to afford a WFP model, it will be worth it.
The WFP models are far and away the best in the range!
I have a 24" 2407WFP (A04 series) hooked up to my secondary gaming rig (running XP Pro), and it runs the 24" BenQ FP241WZ I use with my main gaming rig (Vista HP 64bit), a very close second.
I personally prefer the colours/tones of the BenQ for gaming and watching films... but I certainly wouldn't/don't have any problems watching them on the Dell.
Images are pin sharp on it (the Dell), and of course sitting just 3' - 4' feet away from any good 24" screen when gaming, the graphics jump out at ya!
So yeah... whatever size you decide on... I heartily recommend getting a WFP model.
If you really need to know what differences the various letters make, you'd be best using Google to find reviews of the models you're considering.
BTW: Why still CoD 2? Is your system not up to running newer games?
I ask, because Cod 4: Modern Warfare (particularly) and CoD 5: World at War, are far superior - in every department :emotion-55:
Although it's a relatively 'old' game now (in gaming terms at least), CoD 4 is still widely regarded by gamers, as one of the best FPS titles released in the last X number of years.
Many an hour has been passed away playing the online MP game :emotion-11:
Watch video reviews here, and if your system is up to it, and you haven't tried it/them yet, you can get demos here (CoD 4) and here (CoD 5) :emotion-5:
