Resolution problems upon start up with 2007WFP and 700m

Hi, I just got my 20 inch widescreen LCD from Dell, and I love it so far (don't seem to notice any banding issues). I'm connected using VGA, but whenever I start up my computer the screen's resolution is set at some 4:3 ratio (1450 x 1050 or something), and when I try to change it in the display settings, the 1680 choice is not available. However, when I restart the machine, everything works perfectly fine. Is there any way to avoid restarting my 700m every time I turn it on, just to get the proper resolution?

Thanks,
Daniel

That's odd, I don't have a 2007, but you're saying when you reboot, the LCD and PC recognize the wide format and you don’t need to change properties at all?

Can you change anything in the monitor on screen menu like to full or 16x10 or whatever a 2007 has, it should remember it on next boot up.

That wide format needs to be locked in some how.

Anyone with a 2007 here know the answer?
