S-IPS technology

Anyone know where I can get a list of Dell computers that use S-IPS technology.  So far, when I phone the "sales" people haven't a clue what I am asking about.

This is not entirely true and hasn't been for quite some time. Largely, it depends on the monitor in question. And notably, for any of the monitors where the technology has varied, no type is listed. Here are the links for the 2007FP, which I own, and love so much I'd get another pair. In neither case is a panel type listed.

From the Home and office site: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=20073SB

From the Small & Medium Business site: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=20073SB

I'm in the market for new monitors on two systems, but what's preventing me from pulling the trigger is the simple fact that both my 2001FP and my 2007FP use S-IPS panel and when each of these were replaced under warranty (twice for 2007FP) I received S-IPS panels. But now it is widely known that it's hit or miss as to whether one will receive an S-IPS or a PVA. I process photographs and will not settle for less than an S-IPS.

I've been a steady customer for 10 years, having bought four systems for myself. But my loyalty is waning due to what I consider less than upfront sales tactics. Since I know that the S-IPS are more costly to produce, then I'd suggest Dell be honest about it: Charge more for the S-IPS if need be. But don't keep informed consumers who can recognize the difference dangling by playing what amounts to a very shady shell game.

All,

This is a good page for that information. Type dell in the search blank.

I agree: This is an excellent page--thanks for posting. For the monitor I have (2007FP) it says:

20" LG.Philips S-IPS (LM201U05) or Samsung S-PVA (LTM201U1)

If Dell had a higher-priced option whereby I could be guaranteed the S-IPS, I'd buy two today.
