To what specific video card are you connecting the HDMI cable? What operating system? The operating system must be transmitting a 1920x1080 signal through the video card HDMI out. By the way, both VGA and HDMI can only do 1920x1080 on this monitor. So you are not gaining anything by using HDMI.
I m connecting the monitor to an MSI GTX 970 card and i really prefer hdmi due to it being a digital connection. Texts appear somewhat blurry when using vga
Are you saying you tested your computer with the MSI GTX 970 HDMI out to your friends monitor via the HDMI to HDMI cable and it worked? Or that you simply tested the HDMI cable on your friends computer and monitor?
* Turn your computer and the S2240L off * Disconnect all cables from the S2240L including the power cable * Press the monitor power button in for 15 seconds * Reconnect the S2240L power cord and HDMI cable to it and the MSI GTX 970 HDMI out * Power on the S2240L, then the computer and re-test
