S2417DG, DP disconnects when using HDMI source

With my S2417DG monitor I am using both the DisplayPort and HDMI sources and switching input between a work laptop and home computer. After a period of time using the monitor on HDMI source, it disconnects the DP source as if no signal is being received. The DP is connect from an Nvidia Geforce 3080 direct and the HDMI is connected directly from a Lenovo laptop.

If I change back to DP from HDMI with the laptop still on, it stays in power saving mode and does not reconnect to the computer. When the laptop is turned off or the HDMI cable is disconnected, then it wakes up from DP and reconnects it.

In short, when there is a HDMI signal and HDMI source is selected, DP disconnects after a couple minutes and will not reconnect unless there is no HDMI signal or I physically disconnect the power and plug it back in.

Has anybody seen this type of behavior and know a fix for it?
