S2417DG, PSM issue

Question

I just built a PC less than a week ago for gaming. I was playing a well known game called Overwatch when my monitor shut off today. It went into PSM (power save mode) and my keyboard and mouse lost power. I unplugged my keyboard and mouse and plugged them back in, but only the keyboard regained power. I hit every key possible, but the monitor would not wake up nor did my mouse regain power. I had to shut my system off completely and reboot to fix the issue. Please not that I have 'power saving' disabled on the monitor.

Also, remove the check from, 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' for all USB devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers in the Device Manager

* Operating System: Windows 10* Video Card: Asus Strix 1080* What video card driver?*  Monitor connected to GPU using Display Port. I completed the power saving recommendation and unchecked the USB boxes.
