S2716DG, not working on boot up
Hello,
So I just bought my new monitor Dell S2716DG 3 days ago and i am having one problem. When í turn on PC, my monitor wont turn on as well. It just go to power saving mode and i cant do anything with it. Only way is that i have to unplug Display port cable and power cable from wall drawer and then plug them both in again and its working but i have to do this every time and its kind of annoying especially at monitor for 600 dollars so please help me figure it out.
Thanks

What PC model? What operating system? What video card? What ports are the video card? What video card driver?
I wonder if the Deep Sleep Mode is somehow involved in this issue? Try disabling it and retest -
* Press Button 3 to enter the OSD (On Screen Display) Menu
* Use Button 1 or Button 2 and highlight others. Press Button 3 to select the option
* Select Monitor Deep Sleep option and Press Button 3 to change to Disable
* Exit the OSD

Hi thank you for reply,
PC model - i have my pc assembled so it has no pc model number if i get you correctly but everything is working fine except this (MSI Motherboard)
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Video Card - Nvidia Geforce GTX 580 1,5gb (Gainward)
Video Card Ports - Two Dual Link DVI, HDMI, DIsplayPort
Video Card Drivers - Newest version .. I Downloaded it yesterday in order to try it but nothing
Deep Sleep Mode is already turned off ... I wondered if this is the cause of the problem but it is not.

Be sure the monitor Hz is set to 60Hz. Is Nvidia G-sync disabled under the G-Sync tab and under Manage 3D Settings? The GTX 580 does not support it. Scroll all the way down to Vertical Sync and you will see an option that says "G-SYNC" with the Nvidia logo next to it. Select it, and drop it down to "Let the Application Decide" and click Apply. G-SYNC will now be off.

The thing is i dont have any G sync tab or G sync in Vertical Sync because my video card doesnt support it i guess. But i get it like it is turned off so i set 60 hz at the end of the day turned it off and go sleep. I tried it today and its the same .. just wont start with my pc .. stays in power saving mode

Just to be clear, you are doing a complete shutdown of the computer (not a sleep or hibernate of the computer), then powering it back on and the monitor goes into PSM. But once up, a computer restart will always work?
Do you have an HDMI to HDMI cable to test? If not, per the warranty, you may initiate a monitor exchange. Test the replacement before sending any monitor back to Dell. If the replacement does not have the issue, keep it and send us the original. If the replacement has the SAME issue, the monitors were not at fault. Send the replacement back to Dell. Look to the computer operating system drivers or hardware as the culprit.

So I just tested the HDMI cabel and it works really well ... just like my old DVI monitor absolutely no problem although it supports only 1920x1080/60 hz ... its cabel from my PS4 and it supports only full hd / 60hz so that is why maybe
Anyway ... DisplayPort could be the culprit maybe ? HDMI works great

The monitor HDMI supports 2560x1440. I do not know if the video card HDMI out supports it. To test that you would need an HDMI to HDMI cable like this one.

I'm having a somewhat different problem but still similar. My monitor won't wake-up from sleep when. The PC comes back to life, keyboard lights up, and I can even hear the wake-up sounds from the speakers. But the S2716DG just keeps blinking it's power LED. I noticed this on my first day of owning the monitor. And I remember unplugging the DP cable and plugging it back in fixed it. But then it did it again the next time the PC went to sleep.
I've since learned that if I hit the far-right button (next to the power LED) on the monitor, it'll come wake up. I don't think I should have to be doing this but it's definitely a lot better than unplugging a cable from the rear.
Other than this, the monitor's been working flawlessly.

Dragian,
Test that workaround and post your results. For my notes, click my DELL-username and provide to me via a private message the Dell service tag number, 20 digit serial number and revision (A0x).

So I got the cabel you sent me (HDMI 1.4) and its same ... 1920x1080/60hz max .. my video card has old connector i guess but it works fine .... no boot up problem .. running as it should be ... It appears as DisplayPort problem then ?
