S2721DS, motion blur

Question

I recently started attempting to use my 27' Dell S2721DS monitor for playing video games. I have been experiencing terrible motion blur in every game. When the video game has very high frame rates it makes no difference, which makes me think it is the monitor. It makes me not want to play anymore. The image looks so good when still, when when moving, it is blurry. This issue is especially noticeable when running the nVidia G-SYNC Pendulum Demo. I have tried installing the video driver from Dell (https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=5ctrk), and the latest 'Game Ready' driver from nVidia (currently 536.40 for my nVidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU). Changing from the included HDMI cable to a new 8K DisplayPort cable didn't help. Changing the screen setting 'Response Time' to 'Extreme' didn't help. I also tried adjusting several of the NVIDIA Control Panel settings, they didn't make any difference: changing frame rate from 60Hz to 75hz enabling 'Low Latency Mode' (On & Ultra): enabling G-SYNC (shows 'Selected display is not validated as G-Sync compatible' error: &#xa0; Any other ideas? The $199.99&#xa0;S2721DS is an adaptive sync AMD FreeSync monitor. Not an Nvidia G-Sync monitor = The online S2721DS User's Guide states = Which is why your picture states = You should reset the S2721DS to Factory defaults in the Menu- Others. Then reset the Nvidia to defaults. If using at defaults does not help, consider a different monitor that is Nvidia -G-Sync compatible.

Thanks for the response Chris. I realize G-SYNC is not supported by the S2721DS. When I reset the 'NVIDIA Control Panel' back to default 3D settings, it actually enables G-SYNC! I have reset the monitor settings back to Factory Default, and tried with G-SYNC on and off. Same issue.

Any other ideas?
