S3220DGF, not running 120Hz? #5

The user manual found here  says that the S3220DGF should be able to run 120hz at  2560x1440 through HDMI however I am only able to choose between 1440p 60hz and 1080p 120hz on my Xbox One X.Screen Shot 2020-05-19 at 19.42.45.png

I have tried switching HDMI cables and altering with both my Xbox and Monitor settings and nothing has worked

For most issues encountered with the Xbox One X, you should post on the Microsoft Xbox Forums to get assistance from the Xbox Ambassador.

Dell only tested/validated this S3220DGF AMD FreeSync 2 HDR monitor with AMD FreeSync 2 compatible video cards using Dell Windows 10 PC =
AMD Radeon RX 560X/570X/580X
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
AMD Radeon RX Vega 64

Do you have a Windows 10 PC with an AMD FreeSync 2 compatible video card to test on the S3220DGF?

You are referencing the new S3220DGF User's Guide A01 dated April 2020 which shows HDMI 2560x1440 120Hz.

All past S3220DGF + Xbox One X threads referenced the old User's Guide A00 dated September 2019 which did not show HDMI 2560x1440 120Hz.

The manufacturer at the factory is installing a newer EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) on New unsold and used/refurbished S3220DGF to allow HDMI 1920x1080 120Hz and HDMI 2560x1440 120Hz.

We can see on the online S3220DGF driver page that there are no firmware updates available to download. This means that you cannot update the firmware. The only way to get an S3220DGF with updated firmware for 120Hz is via an exchange.

The customer will need to explain to the Technical Support representative why they are asking for the S3220DGF exchange. Using the console, the customer will need to show the Technical Support representative that 120Hz is not attainable. Once this is done, the Technical Support representative can then proceed with setting up a used/refurbished S3220DGF exchange.

Where should I send this info to? I have an April 2020 manufactured replacement monitor and it's running the same EDID as my previous monitor that was from February.

See my updated last paragraph above. DELL-Chris M
