S3425DW with Optiplex Intel 770

I cannot get the 3425 to work with one of the optiplex workstations over HDMI as it has no USB-C Display. Currently have 2 x 1440p Dell Monitors connected to Optiplex over DP. Tried connecting UW by HDMI and can only get 1080p stretched which looks awful. Do I have to use USB-C to get the native resolution of 3440x1440? Specs says HDMI supports 1.4 and 2.2 or is my Intel 770 not able to push those 3 resolutions?
