Yes, I would....If only my computer made it that far into the start up menu. When I press F12 to go to boot menu, I only get Normal mode. I am using a flat screen (???) monitor,
our invoice reads: dimension 4600 3.06Ghz 533fsb with intergrated video. Whether this is the right item on the list which you are asking me about, I dont know, as I have a list of over 30 items here!!!!

RHIANTW89FE,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Go into safe mode and lower the resolution to see if that will resolve the issue. Which monitor do you have connected to the system?

RHIANTW89FE,

Restart the system and start pressing the F8 Key. Once the choices come up on the screen you can choose to load VGA MODE. When in Windows you can lower the resolution to see if that will resolve the issue.

I called up Dell and i did this. which then had no effect. i was then transferred from the hardware helpline to the software helpline, where I was put on held for 16 minutes. After that amount of time, i hung up. so i am still no closer to getting to the end of this problem.

After finding i can run in safe mode from the F8 screen, i put it into that and tried to run it but still to no avail. this is worrying my mum that our brand new computer has now completely broken. it is less than 1 year old!!

I have the same problem on my 8 month old 8400. Hours spent on phone because it did not show up until after my hard drive was replaced. Reinstalling entire system (ctrl F-11) did not solve problem. Yesterday, tech support stated that there was a hardware compatability issue w/ video card and monitor. My card is a Radeon X-300 and monitor is an ultra sharp 1704 FPD. Anyway, they are sending me a new video card (same one) to see if that helps but they say they may have to replace monitor with the new 1704 FPV. They say it's just an improved 1704 FPD. I still cannot say for sure if my display is actually giving me a digital signal.
