Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum.

Can you tell us what model computer, what model monitor, what applications you have and so on.  The more information you can provide the better the chances of getting a vaild response.

Also, check to make sure this doesn't happen in just certain applications.  Like start tracking exactly what you're doing when it does happen and maybe a pattern will develop that will tell us why.

Michael,  My computer is DELL DIM2300 and the monitor is DELL m782p.

  Just going to this typing the resolution has changed.  It changes (sometimes) when I "check e-mail, while playing solitaire, while playing freecell, when searching the WEB.  It does not seem to follow any particular pattern!  It happens usig almost (maybe all) applications.
