Screen Settings

OK...I need some help.

I just got this computer and in the midst of transferring files etc....

However, I need some help!  When I go on line, the screen is not viewed like it should be....there is only text and a few pics rather than the usual graphics...how do I change the setting so the net looks like it is supposed to?

I appreciate any and all advice!

It sounds like the video drivers are not loaded for the video card.  Right click on the desktop background, click properties, then the settings tab, see if you have a video card listed under the picture of the moniter.  If you have something like VGA Graohics adapter, then teh drivers need to be loaded

Thanks for the advice....

The settings window says:

Display:

Plug and Play monitor on Intel 82865G Graphics Controller

Any more advice??

Thanks!

Boot to Safe Mode (Press F8 just after Dell Screen) right click MY COmputer, click Properties, click device manager tab, remove all listings for Display adapters & monitors, exit & reboot in to normal mode

This would only effect resolution, but the second post on the question says the Monitor is listed as "plug and play monitor"

This means it's a generic driver.  For example my Dell monitor is an E773s, and you can't set the resolution to the max unless

Web pages not showing graphics could be a Windows file association, or what's missing are the plugins for Internet Explorer (Macromedia Flash, and Java)
