Setting -up dual monitors.

I have a Dimension 4600 with a GeForce4 Mx 440 with AGP8X  graphics card. I want to set - up dual monitors--I have a 17" monitor which came with my Dell Dimension and an extra 15" monitor-regular monitors-not LCD...

I think my grapics card is capable of using dual monitors.  What kind of adapter would I need to connect both monitors?  Is there any special software that I need?  Last, are there any tutorials that can help me to do this--I have never set-up dual monitors...thanks, Mike

You need a DVI to vga adapter (less the $20.00) you should be able to find one at Radio Shack, & lots of other places.  Once both monitors are connected, go to display properties, select the 2nd display, check extend my desktop, click OK

Don,

Are you aware of any other method (other than using a graphics card) to connect 2 monitors to a desktop with Windows 8?  All the hardware is Dell but that probably doesn't matter.

Thanks.

Don
