The six year old P1911 was only validated in Windows XP/Vista/7. Even without a Windows 10 driver, Windows 10 should install a Generic PNP Monitor driver to get the 1440x900 resolution.
Chris_M, you are correct that the Generic PnP driver should pick this up. It does not do so correctly, although it picks up earlier and later models OK. This monitor model is special, which is why I'd like a signed driver for Win10 x64 from Dell, especially now that it is so hard to either deal with unsigned drivers or self-sign.
