Small white dots across screen

Question

This morning I noticed a thin line of white and black dots across my screen. They run fro the windows button in the bottom left to the top right of the screen. When I switch to high colour (16 bit) they are not visible. If I switch back to true colour (32 bit) they are visible When I ran dead pixel buddy most of the dots appear white on the black background. Some coloured ones show up on the white background I've updated my graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5700) to the latest drivers More white dots appear when I move a window around. If I then minimise the window these dots will disappear. Which leads me to my question. Does this look like a monitor fault or a problem with the graphics card? The graphics card is about 3-4 months old. Any help would be greatly appreciated! True colour (32 bit) High colour (16 bit) More dots appear arround windows when I move them

It looks to be a video card issue. Can you test the monitor on another PC? Have you tried all of the video card ports?

I've tried both of the ports on the graphics card - same problem.

When I plugged the screen into a different computer the dots dissappeared... so looks like it's a problem with my graphics card or the DVI cable?

Thanks for your help, I'm about to find out how good ATI's support is... The card's only 6 months old.
