SP2208WFP Maximum Screen Resolution question

The suggested optimal screen resolution for this monitor is 1680 by 1050.
I am using this on the available analog connection on a NVidia 64 MB DDR GE Force4 MX 420 with TV out (Dell) graphics card. The maximum resolution that allows seems to be 1600 by 1000 but this blanks out the screen. So currently running it at 1280 by 800 which is not very sharp.

Does my graphics card support a higher resolution? Or should I consider return the monitor?
I did upgrad the driver to the latest one I found on the Dell support website.

Thanks

Sandyk,

Go here

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the resolutions supported by that video card. I would just get a newer AGP video card.

Chris,

Thanks. For the moment I found an updated driver on the NVIDIA site that does permit the optimal resolution. In the longer run, I will take your advice on upgrading the video card.
