It could very well be the video card that is the problem. It the monitor is not receiving a signal from the video card that is what will happen.
What model monitor do you have connected to the system? I will send you some information on performing a monitor self test to see if the monitor is working or not. If you have another monitor that you know works then, connect it to the system to see if the problem persist.
Oh sorry, i forgot to mention that it does this whether its hooked up to the video card or not, and ive tried it on 3 computers thus far, and it works on none of them (other monitors do, just not this one). Ive already tried the self test, and it doesnt seem to do anything... Im pretty sure the monitor is a trinitron p992 (im guessing that thats the model number, i dont see any other numbers featured prominently...)
