Two S2240M monitors with dead pixels

How are you supposed to contact the monitor tech support team? I've only got two serial numbers on the back of my monitors which can't be looked up. And the only product in Dell's system is an old XPS. I even contacted them through the XPS and got the run around. I need to get these things replaced, no reason there should be dead pixels this soon.

Monitor 1 S/N: CN-0CFGKT-64180-52P-14RT. Purchased this in September 2015 on Amazon, has at least 5 dead pixels

Monitor 2 S/N:  CN-0CFGKT-64180-46I-03HT. Purchased this in February 2015 on Amazon, has 10 or more dead pixels.

There is not a specific monitor support team. You just use the regular Technical Support channels. Read this.

Based on the monitor 20 digit PPID serial number date code start date, Dell will warranty the monitor for 3 years.

CN-0CFGKT-64180-52P-14RT
Left Dell on February 25, 2015. Sat in Amazons warehouse for 7 months. Warranty ends on February 25, 2018.

CN-0CFGKT-64180-46I-03HT
Left Dell on June 18, 2014. Sat in Amazons warehouse for 8 months. Warranty ends on June 18, 2017.

You need to post four pictures so that we can see the pixel defect on each monitor.

* Change the windows desktop to an all black background
* Take and post a picture of this all black background showing us the stuck pixels on #1 S2240M
* Change the windows desktop to an all white background
* Take and post a picture of this all white background showing us the stuck pixel on #1 S2240M

* Change the windows desktop to an all black background
* Take and post a picture of this all black background showing us the stuck pixels on #2 S2240M
* Change the windows desktop to an all white background
* Take and post a picture of this all white background showing us the stuck pixel on #2 S2240M

Thanks Chris. If I'm understanding that guide, I will need to call USA 1-866-618-2044 from the last section of the guide that you linked. In your experience, are the refurb monitors in good shape? I wouldn't expect much damage in general but minor cosmetic issues are tolerable as long as I'm getting two replacements with better panels.

Hi Chris,

I did the best I could with the pictures. Nothing could be seen with the black background except my reflection. On the white background, I found some on each and highlighted them in MS Paint. The file size was too big to upload even after compressing so I created a shared link to my Onedrive folder containing them.

In my opinion, they should be exchanged.

There is always the possibility of cosmetic blemishes. They should have been tested and passed by our service center before being put back in stock.

For the Dell S series monitors, 6 or more pixel defects warrant a like for like monitor exchange.

I have made contact with the representatives through email and the guy told me it's " normal to have 5-6 dead pixels and the concerned team will not replace them." Is that right? I don't see how defects in a panel are normal.

That's a disappointing policy.
