U2410 display issues

(1) Did the monitor pass the Self Test? (Y/N)
Yes.

(2) Provide the following information in your post -
* Monitor 20 digit Serial PPID number = MX0C592M728759AGD4HL
* Monitor ports tested = DVI1, DVI2, VGA
* Video card and ports tested = ATI 3870 DVI/DVI, ATI 4350 DVI/VGA
* PC Model = Custom Intel Socket 775
* Operating System =  Windows XP 32bit/Windows 7 x64
* Have you updated the video card driver? Yes I've tried different drivers.
* Is the monitor listed in the Device Manager under Monitors? Yes the monitor is listed

With that out of the way, I guess I'll get to the telling. First I'd like to say that my monitor does NOT suffer from the Green/Pink tint issue or uneven color. I'm getting what I would almost describe as some kind of dithering artifacting or maybe blown out colors, but not just on red/green like you'd expect, but in every color. (Grey, blue, green, red, purple, yellow) all at some point show this blown out/dithering look. This effect/color distortion happens in EVERY preset mode and in the 'custom' mode. Though when switching from mode to mode, the areas that are blown out are different from mode to mode. I've tried resetting the monitor's settings a few times and that had no effect, I tried multiple cables (3 DVI, 2 VGA) and two graphics cards with two operating systems. I tried different outlets, with USB hub plugged in and with it unplugged. Nothing has had any effect. Adjusting the Contrast manually causes the distortion I'm seeing (in every color) shift across the images being displayed, but it never goes away. Unfortunately I don't have a camera besides a really cruddy camera phone and it can't quite pick up what I'm showing because it can't focus on the screen. Its been less than 30 days since I received the monitor so my question is, do I need to return it now as a defective product (and how does that work with a malfunctioning product?) is advanced replacement a possibility because I kinda need my monitor since this was supposed to replace the one that broke. Or do I need to submit it under its Warranty (versus what I'm assuming is a 30 day exchange for working warranty).

I mean, the monitor is, at any given time, I'd say, about 95% free of this distortion so if it'd be better to just wait until the sRGB firmware fix (to remove that graininess) is in so I don't have to ship the monitor back now, and then again later to get the firmware flashed I can do that, I just want to make sure that I'm not making a mistake and setting myself up to lose my warranty or something because I didn't return it right away even though I knew it was malfunctioning in parts of the screen.

I turned of the dynamic contrast. I found it annoying. Perhaps it will help your problem.

Unfortunately, when in Standard/Multimedia/Game modes that support the Dynamic Contrast, disabling it has the same effect as turning the contrast up or down does. All it does is cause the distortion to shift to a different part of the screen.
